Art class still life set up.

Below is the boys in Physical Science class taking notes.

Nehemiah's Tiny Tot class.

Job's Preschool class.

Angelina giving a mini-report on India's coins.Since her brother collects coins she was able to bring in samples to pass around.

tasting a desert in India. We will be studying India next year in Wisdom Booklet 31 so this will be good for her to build on.They also learned about India this year at another co-op we attended.

I need to get pictures of the other classes my kids are in.These classes I help or can easly pop in so I am able to get pictures easy.I would like to have at least on picture of them in all their classes. There are some really talented moms at this co-op .
The older boys then went bowling with a group of young adults they are friends with at the co-op some which they have known since they were little so it was a nice time for them to fellowship. We trust the family that chaperoned & organized the bowling time.
Well its that time of the year to start planning for next year's Wisdom Booklets. So tomorrow on my day of rest I will post as I begin to plan how I prepare for the next year.I love to organize & be prepared it makes homeschooling so much easier. When I am not prepared everything is reflected.

WB 21 Science ~ Volcanoes

Science Resource ~* Anger & Volcanoes*~
Last night we got our power back on.So we woke up at Grandmas & Popis .We reviewed World War 1 and discussed how it related to our major concept-anger violates love.
We then read our Science resource about volcanoes and comparing it to anger. We also watched some videos on volcanoes.I simply Google searched volcanoes then clicked on videos on the top tap. There are some great educatonal videos on volcanoes. We looked at Mt.St.Helens, the Supervolcanoe in Yellowstone, watched an undergraound volcanoe, and a video on how volcanoes are formed along with the types of volcanoes.
After we ate we packed up to head to home sweet home which we have not seen since last Saturday. We unpacked most of our things then we worked on our homework for the next days co-op.Dominic & Joe worked on their research assignment homework & made their robot.Angelina did her India study homework. Angelo did his draw write now homework.

The finished robot ready to be programmed tomorrow.

WB 21 History Resource World War 1

Today we continued our World War 1 study.Since we watched Flyboys yesterday I decided to study the Air warfare.
Today we studied:
  • observation and patrol
  • War in the air
  • Zeppelins

Since we are in the middle of a snow storm and still at Grandma & Popis we decided to watch World War 1 American Legacy a documentary by Mark Bussler's from Netflix.I wish I would of watched this after we completed the entire study. It would of been a great review. Thanks to this documentary we noticed a local World War 1 statue on the film that we plan to go look at and get pictures after the snow storm passes and it is safe to travel again.

I also found War World 1 airplane models at www.HistoricAviation.com

WB 21 History Resource World War 1

We are at my in laws still waiting for our power to come on.Another storm is on its way calling for another 6-10inches beginning tomorrow morning so we may be here for the rest of the week by the look of things.I do want to stay on target with school so we will be doing school while we are here.

Today we continued our study on World War 1 doing notebook pages and the Story of the World read aloud, and the DK book.

We are also watching Flyboys tonight for a World War 1 move on the first fighting planes. There are parts in the movie that we had to fast forward so we use http://www.pluggedin.com/ before we watch the movies to decide if we will watch it.If we decide to watch it we are prepared for the scenes to fast forward.
I am ordering World War 1 model planes for the boys to put together for our hands on projects for World War 1.

Wisdom Booklet monthly planning

I I only use the weekly planner for my Wisdom Booklets. This allows me to change things if I need to change things etc. I do list the topic at the top of the week so when look ahead I can easy see what further focus studies we will be working on if I want to order books or plan field trips etc.

WEEK 1
  • Monday=Major Concept,Commands of Christ,Wisdom Quiz
  • Tuesday=Wisdom Worksheet then Meditation worksheet
  • Wednesday=Character Quality worksheet
  • Thursday=Theme Song
  • Friday=Wisdom Worksheet & Insights through Investigations,Greek lesson from ATI site plus Greek worksheet from ATI site

  • ( For the projects I usually use this week to finish up a long Science or history study from the previous WB)

WEEK 2

  • Monday=Wisdom Worksheet & Power Through Precision/ etymology notebook page or mini-booklet,project older kids
  • Tuesday=Wisdom Worksheet & History resource
  • Wednesday=History project
  • Thursday=History project
  • Friday=History project or co-op

WEEK 3

  • Monday=Wisdom Worksheet & Science Resource
  • Tuesday=Science project
  • Wednesday=Wisdom Worksheet & Authority through Accuracy
  • Thursday=Science project
  • Friday=Science project or co-op

WEEK 4

  • Monday=Wisdom Worksheet & Law Resource
  • Tuesday=Wisdom Worksheet & Medicine Resource
  • Wednesday= Life Classroom / project
  • Thursday=project day
  • Friday= project day or co-op

This is a general outline of how I go through the Wisdom Booklets but sometimes...

  • I will switch the resources around if I want to spend more time in science or medicine etc.
  • I will schedule a topic that I want to spend more time on like science or history on project days or the first week when I am doing the meditation worksheet etc. this keeps my Wisdom Booklets moving while giving ans allows a deeper subjects study
  • when I plan I look at the medicine , science, & history topics
  • I use the ATI Weekly planners to plan 4 Wisdom Booklets at a time & figure out the subjects we will be digging into in science history,
  • I will also look for a read aloud & books to read that will relate to the subject when possible.I look for hands on ideas, field trip ideas etc.and search for notebooking pages, lapbooks, & living books that I may use.If my budget is tight I simply use general notebookng pages or make a mini-book using the BJU books or encyclopedia always have on hand..I also try to find moves that may go with the subject.I write all my plans in the weekly planner

Now I have a priority list Wisdom Booklets first and the 3Rs daily.Read aloud second priority then hands on projects last.If life is busy for whatever reason and all we do is our Wisdom Booklets and the older kids get signed a research/writing assignment for their projects & movies. If life is not demanding I try to do tons of field trips & fun hands on projects along with the kids research & writing work.

I love the Wisdom Booklets for both the heart issues & knowledge so make sure they are always apart of our school is important.Christ has clearly directed and called us to using the Wisdom Booklets .
