We began the Science Resource today. We normally follow the pattern of the Wisdom Worksheet but for this WB we are going a little out of order. The nice thing about the WB is it is a tool so you can make it work for you.I have planned for this Saturday a field trip to the zoo which is one of the recommended projects. It is the only open weekend we have for April so I wanted to complete the science resource first so they know why we are going to the zoo. ****************************************************They are excited to go.We have not been to the Pittsburgh Zoo since they put in the new polar bear exhibit. My husband was part of the team that did the demolition and the dirt work for the polar bear exhibit so it will be fun for him to see it finished. We actually have some Belgium block from the zoo in our front yard from that job he did. ************************************************************************Our spiritual analogy is looking at how animals reveal ways to draw attention to themselves. The analogy is we are not to draw attention to ourselves when doing alms.Instead alms must glorify God which is our major concept for this WB.*************************************** *********************The kids always enjoy studying about animals. We are animal lovers so we enjoy learning about God's amazing creation.Daniel especially was excited. We will be studying animal classification as our project.I will be using the link below to make animal card.I right clicked on the picture & printed the information so when we go to the zoo the younger students can practice classifying animals into reptiles, mammals, etc.The older kids I will have them classifying by Kingdoms. We all will observe and watch the animals to see if any draw attention to themselves. **********************************************************************************************Animal Classification online game. http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/content/animals/kidscorner/games/animalclassgame.htm Animal Classification website.I will be using the pictures to make an animal classification poster for the zoo and classifying animals. http://www.sheppardsoftware.com/content/animals/kidscorner/classification/kc_classification_main.htm
