Wisdom Booklet 20~HR Ancient Greece

Meet the Cast: Daniel~Cyclops

Job~sheep

Nehemiah~one of Odysseus's men

Angelo~Odysseus

This scene is from the Ancient Greek story the Odyssey. They made masks just like they did n Ancient Greece when performing in a play. Then they decided on acting this part of the story which came from our exciting read aloud today.

The focus of today's Greek study was:

  • Greek Philosophy

  • Greek language & alphabet

  • Greek Theatre

The older students researched & wrote while Angelina did another History pocket. We then went to the TOG co-op for a science class the elementary students are learning about astronomy while the Jr.High students are going through a Creation seminar. After TOG the older students went to Grandma's for a spelling lesson.Grandma was a school teacher and since they are struggling with spelling she has volunteered to tutor them using the Bible as the lesson book :) What a blessing she is to us.Of course they get some special Grandma time too!

Colossians 2:4-8 the modern day education system stems from the Greek culture not the Bible Hebrew culture which commands parents to educate their children. Many of the Greek philosophies have crippled the church as a result. The many philosophies of man are being taught in the school systems originally developed by the Greek culture.Today evolution being one that is very dangerous and a stumbling block to so many young Christians who have not been equipped.Gods people need to be as Ezra and weep because we have gone so far from the commands of God then repent.

I loved today because evolution was a perfect door to explain to the kids what philosophy is and the difference between scientific facts & philosophy which is evolution. The Creation seminar today went perfect with today's studies.God is so good we need to get back to the Hebrew roots and leave the Greek culture as Ancient History!!! Modern Greece is a Christan nation and the first country God sent missionaries.
