Wb 35 Wisdom quiz

We completed the wisdom quiz for Wisdom Booklet 35. Our challenge was how well do you understand the concept of forgiveness? I loved how the WB translated the word forgiveness to release as being free from debt or a prison. Of course this was the way Jesus taught the concept so long ago in Mathew 18:21-25

I am always encouraged to see my children answer wisely. The hard thing about being a parent is watching them know the truths and make mistakes. I must remember that sometimes they will get the lesson after mistakes are made. I know I have learned the hard way on things myself but God is good. As long as they are not making any major life changing mistakes I must learn to help and guide them like my loving Savior guides me.

Wb 35 And can it be

We love this hymn!! It is one of my husbands favorites  My older kids know this old favorite but my little ones are learning it as sing it daily during our Wisdom Booklet time. When you have a large family you must repeat things like Bible stories and new hymns as they grow.
We used this book How Sweet the Sound by Richard Allen Farmer to study the history of the hymn. There was more information on the message of the song than history but that is ok as it went into our study of the hymn. We completed the theme song worksheet . It was good to see the children pull out Biblical truth & scripture. I think that is one of the things I enjoy about the theme song worksheet. It causes us to slow down and reflect what the writer who in this case was the famous Charles Wesley long time ago penned down when he wrote the song.
This hymn is a beautiful example of a personal relationship with God. It is amazing love points us to His forgiveness even though we are not worthy. Each day we sing it I meditate on the words more and more. I pray the Holy Spirit is working in my children s hearts also as they sing and meditate the truth with the scriptures we are learning,
I have attached a picture of Angelo doing his theme song worksheet. I love seeing my lambs get fed and finding truth in the Hymns. That is why hymns will always be my favorite they are full of scripture and doctrine,

New school table

My hubby made a new school table for me last week. It is all finished and I love it! I wanted a farm table. He made the table out of the scrap wood laying around . He also made me a tortoise table for my pet tortoise also out of scrap and extras laying around. Next week he plans on making a wooden toy box. I just love recycling.

Wisdom Booklet 35 Forgiveness!!

It has been way to long since I blogged; since we have worked on the Wisdom Booklets!!! Oh how I have missed them. Our family stays focus on Christ when we use this tool. Of course it is God's timing and we are coming back with a challenging lesson forgiveness!!! Since I have been gone our family has made some changes with our homeschool. It has been for the best for me. Each year is different for a homeschool mom .Along with the Wisdom Booklets we are doing ACE and I will blog about that on a different post .For this post I will focus on the WB that I have missed.
What I did this time was sit as a family as always but after our WB time I assigned them the worksheets. The next day we discussed the worksheets together. So it is taking 2 days to a worksheet . This week will completed the Meditation worksheet & the Character Quality worksheet.
Our verse that we did the verse study on was
Joe drew picture on the cover of the WB for his concept picture. He is the artist of the family.I also attached a picture of Daniel doing his word studies with the dictionary & Strong's concordance, This was the first time Angelo who is now in 5th grade has done a verse study so I was excited for him to learn how to use the tools he will hopefully use life long. It has been a while since Daniel has used a Strongs so it was a good refresher course. The older kiddos in highschool have done many verse studies in their school years as they completed the WB.
Our character focus is forgiveness. Clearing the record of those who have wronged me and allowing God to love them through me.

This is going to be a tough one as I am struggling with this as a Christian. I have those in my life I truly want to forgive & forget but I can't.. Its only through God's grace so I am between looking forward to my Lord leading me to freedom because bitterness and an unforgiving heart is bondage to sin. I am also not looking forward to it because I know I will resist and demand my rights so please if you are reading this pray for me.Its the Calvary road that is the true freedom and that's the road He is leading me. Its not an easy walk only God Himself can do that walk and He will be carrying me. As we did the cross reference in our study one of the things that stood out to me was Christ reminding me in His word that I must forgive as He forgave me. It sounds like common Christian lingo but it is a deep freeing truth it is the key to forgiveness.
I enjoyed the examples my children come up with in scripture when we do the worksheets. They always seem to enjoy  hearing each others examples. The WB used Stephen. Some of the saints they came up with was Joseph, prodigal son's father,Hosea, etc. I love how the WB focus our hearts on God's character. We really are in need of character training, parents and all! God is good!!
