Full Year Notebook using the WB

Since I love notebooking I fell in love with these beautiful notebooks ATI sells. They are not listed on the IBLP website they must be a special order for ATI families. If you purchase 8 they are $4 each and that includes the dividers that are made for the WB resources.
As you can see they are color coded according to the WB resources. The tabs include:
  • Bible Studies
  • Life Principles
  • Character Studies
  • Overview
  • Prayer
  • Journal
  • Other/Summary
  • Insights Through Investigation
  • Power Through Precision
  • History
  • Science
  • Authority Through Accuracy
  • Law
  • Medicine
  • The notebook also has the D-rings which hold more paper and is a better design for the pages.

Now I will use this notebook to do my WB Full-Year Notebook for the WB.What that simply is making next years notebook before the school year starts.
The first thing I will do is go to the ATI website to print out all the worksheets for the WB I plan to do next year.I will also print out any helpful pages like the Operational Definitions of Character Qualities page and place that tool in the notebook so the students will have it on hand when needed etc.

I then plan to print out any notebooking pages or worksheets I plan to use.

I will go to the WB for the Advance students to give them their assignments. The first page you can type out or write the assignments for the WB projects. Here I listed when the assignment is do,the course code#,Questions listen to help them begin their research, and a place for them to list the books used in the research.

I then place a title of all the Indian tribes I want them to research on the top of the page. These pages will be were they do their written work. They can take notes on the front & write the paper on the back.

It all then gets placed in the notebook to be ready for them.

You can place notebooking pages in like mentioned above,Having this all ready to go gives you the advantage of being ready and staying on course.

Well this is my game plan to work on slowly and have all the kids full-year notebook ready for next year.I will be working hard to have it done before summer so we can enjoy the summer with no planning or school.
The nice thing is this full-year notebook is my tool not my master.I can easily remove something if I change my mind or we didn't cover something because we spent more time in another area.I can easily add to it as we go.Field trips etc.
I also plan after the school year ends & I pick up my portfolio from the Superintendent to use a Binder machine and make a final year notebook.Hubby just purchased me a binding machine for my birthday so I plan to get my moneys work out of it.

WB 22 Power Through Precision

Here are some pots drying made by the pottery studio. You can purchase pottery at http://www.etsy.com/shop/touchtheearth1st She is a homeschooling mom too :O)

painting wax on the bottom so the glaze will not stick to the kiln

Mixing the glaze. Can you believe that will be a beautiful blue after it is fired! Reminds me of the fiery trials in our life God allows to make us beautiful!

Dipping the pottery in two different glazes.

I can't wait to see what color this white glaze will turn too :O)

I really enjoyed the Power Through Precision this week.It was great studying vocabulary words relating to reconciliation while learning how to reconcile! How can our kids learn these valuable life skills if we do not teach them and what a better way than looking at examples in scripture! Good stuff.

I finally organized my Greek & vocabulary word cards this week. Up until this point I have not used them so now that the are organized I plan to use them daily when we go over our verses ,song etc.It really will be a well worth few minutes a day for them to learn the definitions etc. So at the end of the WB I hope they can give me the definitions of their vocabulary words.

We then went to finally finish our pottery.Between the snow & van we finally had the time to go glaze our pottery. We had fun and great fellowship.

WB 22 Insights Through Investigations

We did Insights through Investigations .We also did the Greek lessons on the ATI website along with the worksheets.

Since our focus is the Greek language I have decided to English from the Roots Up when we do this resource.I really love the point the author has the importance of learning the Greek & Latin roots to learn the meanings of the words. This is the point of this part of the WB so this is a great supplement.I also purchased notebooking pages that go with the study & Daniel just added the words to his notebook.

This kids finished their books so now they we begin to read Julie of the Wolves. Since we will be studying wolves for our science resource I decided this would be good book for them to read.

WB 22 Theme Song~* At the Cross

I love hymns and this of course is one I love to sing.

Today we studied:

  • did the Theme Song WS

  • copied the hymn

  • did a who/what/when/where study on Isaac Watts

It is time to purchase a new "How to Make Melody in your Heart to the Lord" http://store.iblp.org/products/CMMH1/ Mine is all scratched up but we did manage to get some of the history. My daughter laughed the entire time as it paused then repeated etc. There was no hymn history of this song in any of the hymn history books I have so we studied Isaac Watts.

    History of Isaac Watts http://www.victorshepherd.on.ca/Sermons/isaac.htm

    At The Cross
Words by Isaac Watts 1707, Music by Ralph E.Hudson 1885

Alas, and did my Savior bleed?
    And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?

    Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
Was it for crimes that I had done,
    He groaned upon the tree?
    Amazing pity! grace unknown!
    And love beyond degree!

    Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
Well might the sun in darkness hide,
    And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
    For man the creature's sin.

    Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!
But drops of grief can ne'er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
'Tis all that I can do.

    Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

WB 22 Meditation & Character WS

Angelina wants to make another lapbook so she will be making mini-booklets while the boys will be working in their notebooks.

Today we did Wisdom Meditation WS & the Character Quality WS.Responsibility is our character focus for this WB so as always a much focus from Christ.I look forward to the spending time with Christ as he teaches us reconciliation & responsibility and how they go hand in hand. The kids as always with the Meditation WS did a verse study using tools like the Strong's Concordance etc.
I was feeling very sick today.I am always affected by seasonal changes.I pray tomorrow will be a better day.
As the Commands of Christ states His mercy is new every morning and I will be meditating on that when I see the sun rise in the morning.
